Since the new found interest that people endorsed on Bitcoin, the cryptocurrency and the digital realm is having a positive wave. After a very long period of doubts and second thoughts, the world, or at least most of it, has started to have an open mind about the concept. We have been hearing lots of news regarding the price hike that has taken place for Bitcoin. To add to this, CoinATMRadar has declared that there are a total of 5006 operating Bitcoin ATMs across the globe. This is indeed a proud moment for the digital currency realm as it has come a very long way from where it started.
There are more than 5000 #bitcoin ATM's worldwide!! Congratulations to all who made it possible: manufacturers creating reliable machines and many operators taking risks and building new industry from scratch. pic.twitter.com/CrnNh90OqF— Coin ATM Radar ??5??0??0??0?? (@CoinATMRadar) June 24, 2019
A Bitcoin ATM is something of a kiosk, which is almost similar to the regular ATM where the users can insert regular fiat currency and get Bitcoin equivalent to the amount entered. There are two kinds of cryptocurrency available, namely unilateral and bilateral. Unilateral ATM allows only the buying of Bitcoins, while the bilateral ones allow both buying and selling of the same. Kiosks do not connect the users to their bank accounts. These are directly linked to the Bitcoin exchange sites instead. Bitcoin ATMs are connected to the bank account and the transactions are almost similar to that of the regular ATM.
Latest trends in cryptocurrency
Ever since the launch of Bitcoin in the year 2009, the cryptocurrency has seen its fair share of ups and downs. In such a volatile economic scenario, the digital currency had to face twice the number of challenges when compared to fiat currency. This can be associated with a number of factors such as the lack of trust people have in it due to the fact that it is virtual, its high returns, etc. It is still banned or considered illegal in most of the nations. This can be largely attributed to the fact that developing and underdeveloped nations does not indulge in the arena. But since the past few months, things have started to change. Bitcoin reached its highest ever value of 11,000 USD which motivated more and more people to invest in them. Also, the number of Bitcoin ATMs that has reached over 5,000 has also shown how the world has slowly begun to accept the phenomenon.
5006 Bitcoin ATMs
On June 24 of 2019, it has been confirmed that there are a total of 5006 Bitcoin ATMs all over the world. The country with the most number of such ATMs is obviously, the USA. The country alone hosts over 3000 bitcoin ATMs in total. If the wave keeps up its momentum, it will surely bring about a change in the total outlook as to how the normal people view the idea. The more familiar it gets, the more will the common folk accept and start to use the cryptocurrency.
