Atari partners with Animoca brand to launch Blockchain version of its games.

Atari and Blockchain start-up Animoca Brands have partnered with each other to produce Blockchain version of Atari’s classic RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch and Goon Squad games globally excluding China, Hong-Kong, Taiwan and Macau. This version will come out tentatively around the second half of 2019.
Another reason for Animoca Brands partnering with Atari is to explore ongoing opportunities in gaming, product development, Blockchain, and other areas.
The Blockchain technology is a secure and transparent technology to verify digital transactions in decentralized networks. This technology is coming to video games now.
The RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch has more than 19 million downloads worldwide and is also a part of RollerCoaster Tycoon theme park simulation video game meant for iOS and Android devices. Talking about revenue, Animoca Brand will share the games’ revenue with Atari after the first $500,000 of gross revenue.
Animoca’s Blockchain versions of both Atari games will also feature integrated non-fungible tokens (NFT). The firm has also created its own digital currency, the Atari Token had partnered with an online Crypto Casino.
Atari is the innovator of video games, founded in 1972. It has a portfolio of more than 200 games and is famous for Tetris and PacMan.
Animoca Brand is based in Hong-Kong, and it shares are traded on the Australian Stock exchange.
